This game seems to draw heavy inspiration from the Flight Unlimited games of the late 90's, whose main feature was free-flight. No combat, no missions -- just flying around and taking in the beautifully rendered (for the time period) 3-D topography. I loved those games.Fast forward to today: this early access title is sure to be misunderstood out of context, especially if you're looking for a flashy flight simulator or air-combat shooter. That was never the point with Flight Unlimited, and seems to not be the main feature with Flight Unlimited 2K18. Instead, we get a spiritual successor to those games, albeit with a few tweaks. There are several missions this time around (I particularly enjoyed the Alcatraz fly-by and prisoner extraction), and it seems the devs are hoping to make multiplayer dogfight mode happen. That's all good and well, but it will clearly take some time because what is there now is pretty basic.I have hope, though! The controls are initially unclear and take some getting used to, most of the 3-D objects are ghostly window dressing, and some of the airplane engines produce the most annoying white noise I've ever endured. However! I do not regret purchasing this title, and will be checking back on it regularly, hoping to see the developers' vision come to fruition.. I have a couple hundred hours in Microsoft Flight Sim X. Was looking for something realistic but different from what I have done in that simulator. I could see this game being good on a mobile device. For a PC, it didn't accept a joystick throttle - had to keep your finger on a button to maintain throttle. Only a 3rd person view of the aircraft, no first person view. They have a long way to go. WIsh I wouldn't have spent almost $20 on this. I'll give it another shot in a year or 2 once they fine tune it and add input features.. Not what I expected. Too much like an arcade game. Controls are sloppy. Graphics look like a port from an iPad.I do not recommend this game.. not bad needs more planes. continue working on it this game as a great avenir. this game is kinda bad sry
